A short update

Dear readers,

First and foremost, I would like to apologies for not updating this blog frequently.

Secondly, today is my first day of work ^.^ Interesting... Ok, it's bored on the first day... I couldn't help out my colleagues because I have no access to their system yet. Nevertheless, I was surprise to see APIITians over there. Tomorrow should be a busy day for me. What is the most interesting thing that took place today? I spent RM20 on my lunch. YES, RM20. OK, to many working people out there, it might sound like a small amount to you but mind you I am dead broke! I only ordered a mee soup + a drink. THAT'S ALL! Sigh... I will try and ask my colleagues to go for a cheaper place tomorrow. I regretted not deciding on the place of eating today! *I am not familiar with the place anyway*

I HAVE YET TO BUY ANY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!!!! (=.-)" No money also... This year... I shall have no present for myself. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to CNY! Heheh... So can't wait to see my granny!!!! ^.^ I missed all the foods~

OK... That's all for the updates, I am trying to get my hands on the Youth Camp pictures. Hehe... If I can get it.. I will post it ^.^

Adios~

Thankful

Going for an annual eyes check up tomorrow. Feeling a little afraid but I like the doctor a lot ^.^ She's so careful in doing her job and she make sure everything is being carried out properly. Something that I fear after the check up would be the "short term blurness" (due to the medicine). Basically, your eyes will be seeing two visions (something like those who are short-sighted), you are unable to walk properly and you will feel dizzy after that.

Sometimes, people take things that are given by God for granted. They thought that since they can see with their eyes now, until the day they die, they will still be able to see with their eyes. What about your hearing? What about your voice? The air that you breathe everyday? Health? Do you thank God everyday for what He has given to you? Or you just take all those things that I mentioned for granted?

I am getting old, that, I have to admit. Though I don't like people calling me "aunty" but then, it's a blessing to be old, isn't it? Hey, imagine how many cakes you have eaten throughout your life! =P OK, I am a bit too.... "Foodaholic" But the main point is..... Everybody needs a reminder! Therefore, here is a reminder to all, to thank God for what He has given to you and to acknowledge those blessings! Neverever forget to glorify God with what He has given to you (^.^)

MERRY XMAS TO ALL!!!!

Out of words...

Leviticus 1 -5

Reading: Leviticus 1- 5

*I will not be posting the Scripture here as it will be too long. Thus, read the word from http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus%201%20;&version=50; *

Yes, indeed it is a long passage. If you read carefully, you will realise.....
a) Burnt offering (Chapter 1)
b) Grain offering (Chapter 2)
c) Peace offering (Chapter 3)
d) Sin offering (Chapter 4)
e) Tresspasses offering (Chapter 5)

There are many types of offerings written in this book but let us just focus on these 5 offerings and derive some spiritual teachings for ourselves.

Firstly, we have to admit that all of us are not perfect, thus, you will be expecting the scene whereby many people will be bringing forward their sacrifices in order to perform sin offerings every single day. Besides that, we shouldn't leave out the people who were here for burnt offerings, grain offerings as well as peace offerings. Now, I want you to put yourself in the Israelite shoe. Can you imagine what they were seeing everyday with their eyes? Can you imagine what they were hearing every single day? Can you then imagine what they are smelling each day?

To get a glimpse of what they went through, follow your mum to the market. I can assure you, if you are stepping into the wet market for the very first time, your reaction will be "eeeeeeeeee, so dirty...." Not only that, you can also smell an unpleasant odor. If you are "blessed", you can even see some of the sellers slaughtering life chicken! Imagine the cry of the livestock, the unpleasant odor and the bloody scene from the market, multiply it 100 times (or more). The result of that would be the scene of the Israelite EVERY DAY! Isn't that a repulsive scene? Yes, indeed it is!

What is God trying to portray over here? That scene that the Israelite saw, heard and smelled every single day is a glimpse of what God sees when we sin against Him each day. To God, our sins are disgusting! Therefore, whenever you are about to sin against God, think of this scene. Think of how God will feel when He sees you from above and then stop sinning against Him. On the other hand, when you have sinned against God, think of this scene as well, to know how sinful and filthy you are before God. Subsequently, repent of your sin and come back to Him.

Secondly, did you realise that every single offering require the offerer to incur a certain amount of cost? Even the poor, God asked for animals as the sacrifice (Lev 5:7). Can you imagine the money they can obtain from the sales of all those animals? They can even eat the animals as their meals! However, they didn't. Why? They chose to give up the animals to God as their sacrifice to Him. They willingly and whole-heartedly gave in all those to God (even though it costs them). Are you then giving up your all in all to God, willingly and whole-heartedly?

Thirdly, it is so obvious that God gave us an articulate (thorough and detailed) account of the way Israelite should offer up their sacrifice etc. Why then is God doing this? He is actually telling us that He has His own way to save His people. Nobody can come to Him unless he/she comes to Him according to His way and only His way. Are you then approaching Him correctly? Are you picking on His words (All those you can obey, you will obey. Else, you will ignore them)? Remember, God will only accept you if you are doing according to His way.

In short, we are all sinner before God. However, thank God that He didn't just stop there and allow all of us to be condemn to hell! He gave His only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to us and He was crucified on the cross because of our sins. Thus, we are able to come near to God the Father not because we are worthy but because of Jesus's blood that wash us clean from our sin and His righteousness is regarded as ours whilst our sins are regarded as His. Nevertheless, as God has His own appointed way to salvation therefore always bear in mind that you need to come to God according to His way and not yours! In addition, note that it is solely of God's grace that you can come to faith in Him.
=End=

p/s Sorry, I am not that good in writing, but I am trying my best to write down what I have learnt through CF, YF and even bible study in order to remember by heart what I have learnt thus far. A big apologies to all (especially the preachers) if I didn't present the thing well. Hehe... You can always (always welcome) leave a comment and add in all those things that I left out =P

When times are well...

Scripture: James 4:7-17

7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
11Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

_._._._._._._._._._._._._

Topic: When all things are well
The word "therefore" is mainly used to introduce a logical conclusion based on facts or reasoning. It is as though "therefore" served as a purpose of "drawing out the main point" for the readers. In this short passage (James), you can clearly see that there are two "Therefore" in the passage (v7 & 17). As a result, it shows forth that in this short passage, all the words written there will be concise and important. In this respect, we will be looking into this passage and draw out the spiritual elements for ourselves.

In this passage, it is clear that the passage is written in an imperative format, whereby all the things stated here are commands / essential for the Christian. For instance, Submit to God, Resist the devil etc.

The passage can be further divided into 3 sections.
a) V7 - V10 == Focusing on self
b) V11 - 12 == Focusing on the relationship with others
c) V13 -17 == Focusing on the relationship with God

Our main focus will be mainly on V13 -17. Therefore, let us now study His words further in order to find out what God has to say to all those Christian who are currently not facing any trials and all things are well in life.

If you read V13, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit", you will have the idea that the person who said such statement will be in a state whereby he/she is carefree. He/She should be in a state whereby all things are well and not facing any difficulties in life. In fact, you can see that that person is trying to improve their life through investment.

Implicitly, people who said such words seem to portray that they are confident in their financial state. If you think further, aren't many of us fall in the same category? Well, you might not be confident in your financial status, but what about physically (i.e. having a good body shape)? Mentally? Socially (i.e. Having a big social network in life)? Psychologically? Many of us tend to be too over confident upon ourselves and forgetting that all things come from God.

Many of you can argue saying that "we are just planning for the future", is that wrong? Well, I didn't say that we shouldn't plan ahead, in fact, we should! But what makes it a sin and displease God? Look at verse 14. God clearly told us that we are way too over confident with ourselves and plans until we forgot the fact that we are not at all in control of all things. We are as though planning and being so certain that it will turn out the way we expected it. We forgot the fact that regardless how well we plan, if it is not God's wills, all things will not take place as we plan. To make the matter worse, we always tend to plan things according to our heart desires and preferences and not submitting to God ultimately. How then can we please God with our earthly desires plans? It will never please God!

Hence, how should we plan and not displease God with our plans?
We should always put God in the picture and submit to His wills whenever we are planning or deciding on our future. For instance, if you are hunting for a job, you take into consideration of the working hours (don't work on Sunday), working environment that will affect your spiritual growth etc. If it doesn't help you spiritually or doesn't glorifying God, you tend not to pursue it. Yes, though it might take you longer to seek for a suitable job but nevertheless you trust in God that He will provide. That is how you plan and decide on your future by acknowledging God and submitting to Him regardless what are the outcomes of your plans.

When all things are well, God knew that we tend to be overly confident regarding self. Therefore, God reminded us through James to submit to Him, resist the devil, draw near to Him, purify our hearts, humble ourselves etc (V7-12). But the most important message in this passage would be in V13-16 whereby God reminded us that we shouldn't be looking too much on the horizontal view (relationship with human) and forgetting the vertical view (relationship with God) even at times of ease.

Therefore, regardless what is happening in your life, regardless how you look physically, regardless of anything, submit yourself whole-heartedly to Him and constantly seeking His will and His words.

    Life?

    (created by: Ng Bi Yan)

    Ever wonder where your life is heading? Yes, without a doubt, I know many of you out there obtained a plan for yourself. Regardless whether is it a detailed plan or just a rough idea on what you want to do in the future, it doesn't matter. The main point that I wish to emphasize over here is... How certain are you that all those plans you have in mind will come to life? How certain are you that all things that you plan will take place exactly as how you plan? Will it?

    No offense to all but I still hold on to the belief that nothing is certain in life, except death. That is the only thing I can assure every readers out there that it will take place. You can be as positive as you want, you can be optimistic, you can be a so called "looking at the bright side person", but tell me one thing... Does it change the fact that you will die one day?

    I once read a book, the author claimed that if you think positive, all those positive things will eventually come to you. 33 said, wake up and be realistic. Regardless how you think, if it is God's plan for you to die, you will die. OK I have to admit that I am a pessimistic person but that still doesn't mean that death will come earlier to me, right? Well, unless God made it that way.

    Now, since death is so certain in life, why then live? You will die anyway, right? What then is the purpose of living? To eat? To learn? To have a family? Then what? I believe many out there are asking those questions from time to time. Some got the answer for their questions, but many don't.

    Life, is more than you can imagine. Life is more precious but it is often made small in value because many don't understand the meaning of life. What then is life?

    Come and listen to what the creator (God of the bible) has to say since He created you and me. Let us come and listen what He actually has for us in our life.

    Visit: http://cfellowshiponline.com/ for more information

    Hope to see you there and have all your questions answered!

    Story ^.^

    A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

    A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

    Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

    The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."
    What he had written was: "Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it."

    Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

    Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

    Moral of the Story:

    Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

    Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

    Great men say, "Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness…. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience."

    The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…
    And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

    Sherlock Holmes

    'The facts are not always what they seem, we think that they all point to the same thing but,
    if we look at them in another way, they can tell quite a different story."

    = Sherlock Holmes =

    (Taken from: http://www.americanhistoricaltheatre.org/Page%20gallery/patriot_p5.htm)

    I finish reading Sherlock Holmes's Mystery of Boscomble Pool. Interesting? Emmm... Sorry to Sherlock Holmes's fans beforehand, but I truly find the book a little too.... Boring + not exciting. I am actually expecting more adventures, more unexpected things coming out from Holmes. OK, have to admit that the book is TOO THIN to write more of all those elements that I am expecting.... Hahahah... Nevertheless, the sentence above caught my attention as I read the book.

    And I started thinking.....
    1) Are you sometimes too carried away with the facts that appeared before your eyes and unable to see the "other side of the story"?
    2) Are you sometimes too stubborn with your own thoughts and opinions thus unable to see the "other side of the story"?

    Facts may be so obvious for many to see.
    But.......
    a) Sometimes people may just twist and turn facts and make it as though it is the true facts before you in order to confuse you! Nevertheless, I remember 737 told me something in CF, when there's a question in your head, don't be lazy but to find out the TRUTH. If you are lazy, that's why it is easy for people to tell you "false facts" because they knew that you will not find out any way. Therefore, bare in mind that laziness is a attitude that will really kill you. A hard lesson to learn indeed but I still believe in doing things step by step with God's strength. Uncertain on how long will it take but I know God is at work.
    b) Are you believing it just because many said so or are you believing because it is the truth?

    Sorry, my head is "flying" all over the place. When I was reading this story book, my thoughts was on false prophets.

    "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognise them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that doesn't bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognise them. "(Matthew 7:15-20)

    Well, I find it quite similar with Holmes's saying. Why?
    Firstly, false prophet might appears to you just like a normal human being or devoted man. Your eyes might tell you that he/she is a devoted person and love God very much. Thus, he/she is a Christian and whatever he/she said should be true and not distorted. Somehow, some of you, your "guarding system" will be taken away from that person. There goes... False teachings will be filled in your head and if you are lazy, it worsen the whole situation all together.

    Secondly, if you are looking at things carefully and not slack in guarding over what God has given to you, you will realised that all those people are false prophets and they are against God. Because you are not looking only with your eyes but you are observing their life and the fruits that they are bearing.

    In short, there's only one way, one truth and one place to everlasting life. If you will only trust Jesus, He will save you; your sins, which are many, will all be forgiven; you will be adopted into the family of God, and in due time you will find yourself in heaven and be there for all eternity. (C.H. Spurgeon) Are you on the right path? Are you clinging on to the only TRUTH? Be certain and have the assurance that God words will never fail. Come, come to Jesus.

    Will you?

    "I heard the call, Come Follow, That was all.
    Earth's joy grew dim,
    My soul went after Him.
    I rose and followed - That was all.
    Will you not follow if you hear Him call?"

    God's words will stand forever

    For how long I abandon this blog? I lost count... Many things happened during this short week. In short, breathe taking week...

    (Taken from: http://www.pjlighthouse.com/2007/05/30/funnies-this-is-your-state-when-you-come-to-work/)

    I saw a new life being born into this earth lately... How pure and clean he may be but in reality I know none is pure and none is perfect. Something interesting about this baby boy that I meet.... It is actually his name.. Why is his name interesting? Because he doesn't even have a name yet..

    His parents and grandparents are obviously anxious regarding the issue as within 2 weeks or less, they will need to register in the government department in order to get his birth certificate done. The process of getting a name seems to be so difficult for them as it took them months to think of one. Well, to be honest, I find it quite irritating on their way of finding the right name for the baby.

    Firstly, they went to temples, meet up with people who claimed themselves as "Sifu in giving names" based on the birth of the baby. In this respect, they calculated the 5 elements of the Chinese Philosophy (Wood, metal, water, fire and earth), taking into the consideration of the month of birth etc. The sifu will later give the parents a few individual single Chinese character, subsequently the parents will need to use those characters to form a name. The result? Everything was bad as the character given was so difficult to form a name. Mind you, the paid was not cheap in any way.

    Secondly, they browse through some websites whereby they generate "good names". The website even go to the extend of giving you a percentage of the name! (i.e Shan Shang - 80% [considered as a good name]) The higher percentage, the better it is (according to the website)... Therefore, even though the parents like a particular name but if the website shows a low percentage for it, the name will be eliminated.

    And so it was, the whole family was running here and there whilst some stayed at home surfing the internet for "good names". Looking at such situation, something came into my head... And I actually went to the extend of asking the grandparent one question....

    "Actually, why are all of you so concerned regarding the name? Yes, I acknowledged that a name is your indentification for the rest of your life but why go through all those troubles (going temple, paying money, going through websites calculating the percentage) just to get one name? Isn't it better for the name to be meaningful rather than "weird and doesn't carry any meaning"?"

    Only replied I got....
    "A good name will represents a good life in the future... If not, the baby life will be a suffering life. That's why you must look at all the elements. This is to find out whether are they contradicting to one another (in terms of the elements), whether is it inviting "good people aka god" to help him etc"
    33: =(Total speechless) (What a good speech)
    (Taken from: Kahthong.com)

    Yes.... But... How certain are you that a name will have such effect? You do realised that one day that baby will die as well regardless how great that name is.. You do realised that you are just easing your conscience that it will help him in the future, right? Because you know it well that even you yourself can't control your own life, how things were to take place, how good things will be and how bad things will be etc... Do you really naively believe that a name will make a difference over God's plans? Well, if you do, then that person can be a god now and not human.

    Grandparent: *Total silent and totally ignoring my words whilst continue on looking at the monitor...
    33: *rest my case, watch TV*

    Dear readers...
    Sorry if I were to offend you in any way. I didn't mean to nor am I did that on purpose. However, I wish to bring home the point that having a good name or how people were to claimed it as a bad name, it doesn't affect your path way on eath, because God has prepared and plan all things. If you still insist that a good name can truly affect your life I can tell you truthfully it doesn't. It is as though you are saying to God that "I can change my life with my own efffort and hands. I can twist around what you had planned for me and I will". If you wish to go against God's will, go ahead, I've nothing to comment on it anymore.

    But do bear in mind one thing that the Lord said:-

    For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. “ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:8-11)

    For this, God's words will stand forever and ever. Amen.

    Smile =)

    突然间。。 。觉得害怕。。。 害怕不是在于自己的决定乃是在于他人的决定。

    他真的这样想的吗?也许他真的不明了我。。 或许是太过的了解。。。 我。。 失去了理智来判断。我,也不想详细的了解任何关于此事。我选着了离开。。 逃闭?也总比踏入"火坑” 里头。。

    身旁的事件多的是。 但,我依然很想咪咪的笑。
    就如dear说的。。 从心发出的笑。
    因为,最难熬过的,我们的主,耶稣基督以为我们承担了。
    我们的生活里所有的风破,如比较上帝在十字架上所作的一切,也只不过是一粒沙。
    不。。是比沙粒更渺小。。。

    所以,刘珊杉, 要加油!加油!加油!

    诗篇 78

    看着诗篇 78, 我不知情的开始思考。。

    问问自己,为何上帝要放一篇那么长的一篇诗?
    问问自己,那么长的一篇诗, 里头说了些什么?
    问问自己,上帝真的是纯粹告诉你一个故事吗?

    这篇诗, 是我个人喜欢的。
    每当我觉得绝望,觉得低落,觉得活在此地真的很苦,我会很自然的回想这一篇诗。
    想想, 上帝赐予我这22 年以来的祝福,这22年的生命,这22年的爱戴,这22年的一切一切。

    真如诗篇所说的,人,往往就是善忘的。。
    总忘了上帝是如此的爱我们。
    总忘了上帝是如此的看顾我们。
    总忘了上帝在我们生活所做的一切一切。

    神啊,请求你,请求你啊。。。 带领这一头羊。。
    在她的生活里,应许你的手在那儿守护着她。
    永永远远的拖着她的手,永不放开。。

    Rain... Thunder... TRUTH...

    "Take heed, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin!" Sin first deceives, and then it hardens. I was now fast bound in chains; I had little desire, and no power at all to free myself. I would at times reflect how it was with me, but if I attempted to struggle, it was in vain. I was just like Samson, when he said ,"I will go forth, and shake myself, as at other times"; but the Lord was departed, and he felt himself helpless in the hands of his enemies. By the remembrance of this interval, the Lord has often reminded me what a poor creature I am in myself, incapable of standing in a single hour without continual flash supplies of strength and grace from the fountain-head.
    By John Newton (from Out of the depths)
    *Reflecting on things*
    Many things in head currently, looking back at my life, I can only say.. Thank you. Realising that all these while how forgetful I can be in this walk.. I used to keep a journal in my life but that habit is soon abandon due to my laziness. Nevertheless, those previous entries are sufficient to bring home the point that I am sinking into the world. II Peter 2:20-22 came into head constantly..

    Yesterday, while listening to what pastor was preaching on 1 Kings 19, there's still small voice saying... There you are, that is your problem. Do you not see it since the beginning? I was cast down. It always hurt to hear the truth, that I must admit. Yesterday night heavy rain worsen my grief as it reminded me of a particular incident that took place not long ago, a night when the thunder was so loud and the rain was pouring. Nevertheless, as the old hymn said, though it taught my tears to flow awhile, but I thank the hand that caused that smart. *if I didn't quote the lyrics wrongly >.<"*

    How easy it is for a person to go astray. Just think with me for a moment.
    1) Do you need to teach a small child to lie?
    2) Do you need to teach a small child to cry when they didn't get something that they want though it is dangerous? (showing forth rebelliousness)
    3) Do you need to teach a person to be lazy?
    Etc etc etc...

    Why is it that it is so easy to pick up bad habits and so difficult to cultivate good habits? Even if you successfully cultivated good habits, how long does it last? One year? Two? Romans 3:10-18 clearly described human....

    As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit, The poison of asps is under their lips, whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes."

    Why??? Because they are all under sin... Just as though one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) therefore, all of us deserved death as none of us can be perfect before God.

    When we are still without strength, Christ died for the ungodly. God demonstrates His own love towards us through Christ's death on the cross, while we are still a sinner. Through His work on the cross, His righteousness is imputed upon His elected children while our sin are imputed upon Him. We are thus saved from His wrath (from punishing us for our sin) through the death of His Son. Not only that but we should rejoice as through our Lord Jesus Christ death on the cross, we are thus reconciled and received by God and being able to call Him "Abba, Father".

    As we are in one body with Christ, we know that our "old man" was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For He has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has domination over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, reckon yourself to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:6-11)

    Implicitly, our life is for God and it is God's. Thus, live a life as a living sacrifice for God and not for men.

    BBJ!

    Went to BBJ library today for duty. FUN! ^.^

    The journey to BBJ was.... LONG... Thanks to a massive traffic jam in front of my house. I was late for the first day of work. I am thankful because I didn't lost my way there. Thanks to the clear direction from a person that claimed that GOOGLE MAP is not as precise as his own map (draw himself). I must agree with him that his direction is really clear... Allow me to show you his master piece!

    *did some editing*
    I reached there super late~ Thank God I met with a TA who willingly directed me to the library and helped me in opening the library door. Hoho... First day of work and I obtained a new friend! Not bad for a start ^.^ HOWEVER, with my STM brain.... I forgot his name... No worries, I will ask him again tomorrow. Hahaha...

    In short, the duty time was nice.. Peaceful I can say... Hehe.. But tomorrow... It will be a little busy, hopefully... Having some thoughts in head... Uncertain whether can I accomplish it or not. but I hope for the best..

    *chuck all things at the back* Don't care... Going swimming tomorrow!!!!!

    OK CRIMINAL MINDS TIME! ^.^

    *哭泣*

    不知不觉,我已经看完了一部戏。。。 不知怎么。。 我。。 竟然。。。爱上了那部戏。。 虽是一部旧片,但, 重点,钱真的不是一切。

    因为贪, 一个人真的能不折手段。
    因为贪, 一个人真的能连家人都不理会
    因为贪, 一个人真的能伤害无辜
    因为贪, 一个人真的能放弃自己的一切
    因为贪, 一个人真的能。。。。(不敢再想向下去)

    虽然,我不应该把戏当真。 但, 我依然相信,一个人, 为了钱,真的可以变得很恐怖。。
    一名罪人, 除了犯罪,还有什么好夸的? 即将踏入工作的我, 虽还没找到工, 但,心以开始害怕。。 我。。又会不会变成一名爱钱却不爱神的小女孩?

    Christian's Pillgrimage

    Addicted to reading currently.... Am reading "The Pilgrim's Progress". Yes, yes, an "old book" indeed... Yes, yes, I should have read that long ago. ANYWAY..... Hehehe.... You must be curious what happened to me as suddenly ADDICTED to books, which is no way a norm... Hahaha... Because...... It's in pictures! Hahaha... Like a comic script! SO COOL!!!!! Almost finishing.... Sigh... Trying to read a little slower but can't help myself but to contiue on reading =P

    Something that caught my attention....

    "Then they went into a dusty parlour. A man began to sweep, but the dust flew about until a damsel sprinkled it with water. "The dust is man's original sin; he who began to sweep first is the Law, but she who brought the water is the Gospel, by whose sweet influences sin is subdued."

    Looking through this book, I can say John bunyan stated out many things that a Christian should be aware of and how a Christian life should be. An interesting book indeed.

    Nevertheless, I am still anticipating to read my beloved "out of the depths" ^.^ Share with you all next time...

    A Psalm of my soul..

    Psalm 73

    1Surely God is good to Israel,
    to those who are pure in heart.

    2 But as for me, my feet had almost slipped;
    I had nearly lost my foothold.

    3 For I envied the arrogant
    when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

    4 They have no struggles;
    their bodies are healthy and strong.

    5 They are free from the burdens common to man;
    they are not plagued by human ills.

    6 Therefore pride is their necklace;
    they clothe themselves with violence.

    7 From their callous hearts comes iniquity ;
    the evil conceits of their minds know no limits.

    8 They scoff, and speak with malice;
    in their arrogance they threaten oppression.

    9 Their mouths lay claim to heaven,
    and their tongues take possession of the earth.

    10 Therefore their people turn to them
    and drink up waters in abundance.

    11 They say, "How can God know?
    Does the Most High have knowledge?"

    12 This is what the wicked are like—
    always carefree, they increase in wealth.

    13 Surely in vain have I kept my heart pure;
    in vain have I washed my hands in innocence.

    14 All day long I have been plagued;
    I have been punished every morning.

    15 If I had said, "I will speak thus,"
    I would have betrayed your children.

    16 When I tried to understand all this,
    it was oppressive to me

    17 till I entered the sanctuary of God;
    then I understood their final destiny.

    18 Surely you place them on slippery ground;
    you cast them down to ruin.

    19 How suddenly are they destroyed,
    completely swept away by terrors!

    20 As a dream when one awakes,
    so when you arise, O Lord,
    you will despise them as fantasies.

    21 When my heart was grieved
    and my spirit embittered,

    22 I was senseless and ignorant;
    I was a brute beast before you.

    23 Yet I am always with you;
    you hold me by my right hand.

    24 You guide me with your counsel,
    and afterward you will take me into glory.

    25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
    And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

    26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
    but God is the strength of my heart
    and my portion forever.

    27 Those who are far from you will perish;
    you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.

    28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
    I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge;
    I will tell of all your deeds.

    One of my favourite Psalm... Or should I say... Oh.. Never mind...

    I thought I was _____ (Fill in the blank, but only God knows the answer)... Then only I realised all these years, if it's not because of God who is so merciful towards me, I will be dead as a log by the roadside. Looking at those things, I wish to give thanks to my Father because His hands is always upon me and always ensure that I am kept safe.

    I know what I saw is not a fake vision nor is it an illusion but I know that it is the truth. I used to hate it because God chose to reveal it to me. Now, I truly understand the purpose of that cause. If it is not because of the truth, I can never truly appreciate what He has done for me on the cross. In agony and in pain, yet not a word He said. There is was, my sins was there to nail Him on the cross...

    Lord, be with thy servant - there - tonight - tomorrow - and all her life.

    How sweet the name of Jesus sounds

    By John Newton

    How sweet the name of Jesus sounds
    In a believer's ear!
    It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
    And drives away his fear.

    It makes the wounded spirit whole,
    And calms the troubled breast;
    'Tis manna to the hungry soul,
    And to the weary rest.

    Dear name! The rock on which I build,
    My shield and hiding place;
    My never-failing treasury fill'd
    With boundless stores of grace;

    By thee my pray'rs acceptance gain,
    Altho' with sin defil'd
    Satan accuses me in vain,
    And I am own'd a child.

    Jesus, my Shepherd, Husband, Friend,
    My Prophet, Priest and King;
    My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End,
    Accept the praise I bring.

    Weak is the effort of my heart,
    And cold my warmest thought;
    But when I see thee as thou art,
    I'll praise thee as I ought.

    Till then I would thy love proclaim
    With ev'ry fleeting breathe;
    And may the music of thy name
    Refresh my soul in death

    Life without a purpose?

    I feel that, if I could live a thousand lives, I would like to live them all for Christ, and I should even then feel that they were all too little a return for His great love to me.
    C. H. Supurgeon

    I believe many are living a life out there, whereby they themselves can't seem to figure out what is the purpose of living. Many claimed that they are here to have fun, some claimed that they are here because "accidents happen", while some may claimed that they have a mission on earth (i.e. to study, to earn a living, to get married etc)
    What then is your purpose in life? Merely fun? Mission? Or should I say parents?
    What is in the future, I do not know. Nevertheless, there's something that I can be sure of in everybody's life. Death.
    Yes, many might said "CHOI" when I said the word "death" in front of them, but think of it this way, since death is so certain in life, why then are you ignoring it and not face it? How can you live a life with joy when death is so certain in life? Can death really be overcome? Well, of cause you can =) Let us then starts off by looking at what is death, should we?
    What is death?

    In the beginning,
    when God created the earth and man, everything was perfect. Nevertheless, there was one commandment that God gave to His first man and woman (Adam & Eve), which is "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." (Genesis 2:16-17).

    Everything was perfect until one day when Eve was much persuaded by a serpent to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. Subsequently, Adam also took it as Eve passed it to him. There it was, the fall of mankind. The first ever sin on earth, committed by our representative of human race. It is just like a cup of clear water being added with a drop of detergent. Though only one drop of detergent, the water became unclean. Therefore, before the fall, they are perfect however, after the fall they are sinful in nature. If left to the choice of pleasing God or pleasing self, they tend to follow the latter.

    When Adam sinned against God, he was guilty before God. Due to the fact that he is the representative of human, thus, we are sinful in nature though we are not born yet. You might argue that we are not the descendant of Adam thus you are not guilty before God. Now, look into the bible and read carefully. In the beginning it is passed down the there's 7 days a week and on the seventh day, it is Sabbath. Now, tell me, are you not also in the same "time measurement"? You can try and change it to 8 days a week or modify it but your effort will be in vain as historically, people have tried that but failed. Due to the fact that we are all from the same ancestor, thus, the time measurement is the same throughout the century.

    As we are the descendant of Adam, thus, we inherited his sinful nature when we are born to this earth. When we are left alone, we are likely to sin. We all grew up sinning against God in terms of speech, thoughts, and actions or even not doing what He wants us to do. As we are always breaking God's law, thus, we stand guilty and sinful before God.

    Adam and Eve will need to face up with the truth that they will die physically due to their committed sin. Furthermore, they also died spiritually as the moment they sin against God, they were departed from God. They are driven away from God because they offended God (Gen 3:24). From the preceding, it is thus concluded that we too are then dead physically as well as spiritually as we are the descendant of Adam. Despite that, we are doubly guilty (besides inheriting Adam's sin) before God as we ourselves commit sin every single second on earth.

    (Taken from: http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/reviews/2006-11-16-review-happy-feet_x.htm)
    A way out of death? Out of the bondage of sin?

    Wanting to get out from the bondage of sin and death? Do you think you can? You can try but I can assure you that your effort is in vain.

    "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away." (Isaiah 64:6)

    You can never clean yourself because whatever good that you have, it can never patch up whatever you have done wrong in God's eyes. As claimed in Isaiah, all your so call righteous works are just like a filthy rags before Him, because we can never be righteous before Him.

    "Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil." (Jeremiah 13:23)

    Didn't that verse above just describe our status? How can we, sinners, do good? We can never ever do good nor be perfect before God. What can we do then since we can never be perfect and always fall short of His glory? That just mean that we are so condemned to hell isn't it?

    God is a God of love and merciful (Psalm 86:5). Before you were to come and change yourself and realized that you can't, God already plan for you since the beginning.

    Since the beginning, God the father, son and Holy Spirit, already made the agreement among each other to save a certain people. God planed the Son to come in perfect human being and yet never seems to be God. That person Jesus Christ is actually son of God and son of men. He’s divine as well as human. He has two natures in one person; he became the perfect mediator between God and man. He represents God before human and perfect human before God.

    How He deal with the problem, our sin against God and our sinful nature? Jesus live a perfect life, he was arrested and put to death on the cross. Those days, crucifixion is the cruelest way to kill thieves. All those people were influenced to kill him. He rose again on the 3 day and ascended to heaven. However, he will come back to judge the world.

    When Jesus dies, He became the perfect sacrifice for those chosen people. This shows that his sacrifice is accepted by God when He rose back from death. We rightly speaking were to undergo the punishment but Jesus undergoes that for us. It is not a normal death but a substitute for us. Therefore, Jesus paid the price of our sin on the cross so that we will not need to undergo that punishment.

    When Jesus dies on the cross, He dies as a “sinner” because of us. When God looks at Christian, He sees no more on our sin as the sin are dealt with on the cross. The righteousness of God is given to us while our sin given to Him. Therefore we are not guilty before God.

    In short, the blood of Christ cleanses us as He dies for us. Therefore, our sinful nature is taken away by Christ and His death. We will need to turn from our sin, repenting before God and trust in Him. A Christian will know that he is forgiven. Only those who repented and trust in Him will benefit from His death, else you are not a Christian.

    What is repentance?
    You realize that you are guilty against God, you are unable to come to God and unable to come before God. When you hear the gospel, you made up your mind and not to lose your life to your sinful nature and turn to God and trust in Him and depend on Him and Him alone to save you. You know He is the son of God and come in the form of a perfect human nature and crucify on the cross. Because of that, you wash clean and able to come to God and be saved.

    How may I know that I am a true Christian and accepted by God?
    You have a different life but not a perfect life. Nevertheless, there’s a transformation in out life because the Holy Spirit lives within you. It gives you the desires to seek Him, understanding and obeying His commands. If you walk carefully before God, the number of time you sin is minimal. Every time you sin, you are burden and wanted to come before God and seeking for forgiveness.
