A short update
Dear readers,
First and foremost, I would like to apologies for not updating this blog frequently.
Secondly, today is my first day of work ^.^ Interesting... Ok, it's bored on the first day... I couldn't help out my colleagues because I have no access to their system yet. Nevertheless, I was surprise to see APIITians over there. Tomorrow should be a busy day for me. What is the most interesting thing that took place today? I spent RM20 on my lunch. YES, RM20. OK, to many working people out there, it might sound like a small amount to you but mind you I am dead broke! I only ordered a mee soup + a drink. THAT'S ALL! Sigh... I will try and ask my colleagues to go for a cheaper place tomorrow. I regretted not deciding on the place of eating today! *I am not familiar with the place anyway*
I HAVE YET TO BUY ANY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!!!! (=.-)" No money also... This year... I shall have no present for myself. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to CNY! Heheh... So can't wait to see my granny!!!! ^.^ I missed all the foods~
OK... That's all for the updates, I am trying to get my hands on the Youth Camp pictures. Hehe... If I can get it.. I will post it ^.^
Adios~

Thankful
Going for an annual eyes check up tomorrow. Feeling a little afraid but I like the doctor a lot ^.^ She's so careful in doing her job and she make sure everything is being carried out properly. Something that I fear after the check up would be the "short term blurness" (due to the medicine). Basically, your eyes will be seeing two visions (something like those who are short-sighted), you are unable to walk properly and you will feel dizzy after that.
Sometimes, people take things that are given by God for granted. They thought that since they can see with their eyes now, until the day they die, they will still be able to see with their eyes. What about your hearing? What about your voice? The air that you breathe everyday? Health? Do you thank God everyday for what He has given to you? Or you just take all those things that I mentioned for granted?
I am getting old, that, I have to admit. Though I don't like people calling me "aunty" but then, it's a blessing to be old, isn't it? Hey, imagine how many cakes you have eaten throughout your life! =P OK, I am a bit too.... "Foodaholic" But the main point is..... Everybody needs a reminder! Therefore, here is a reminder to all, to thank God for what He has given to you and to acknowledge those blessings! Neverever forget to glorify God with what He has given to you (^.^)
MERRY XMAS TO ALL!!!!

Out of words...

Leviticus 1 -5
Reading: Leviticus 1- 5
*I will not be posting the Scripture here as it will be too long. Thus, read the word from http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus%201%20;&version=50; *
Yes, indeed it is a long passage. If you read carefully, you will realise.....
a) Burnt offering (Chapter 1)
b) Grain offering (Chapter 2)
c) Peace offering (Chapter 3)
d) Sin offering (Chapter 4)
e) Tresspasses offering (Chapter 5)
There are many types of offerings written in this book but let us just focus on these 5 offerings and derive some spiritual teachings for ourselves.
Firstly, we have to admit that all of us are not perfect, thus, you will be expecting the scene whereby many people will be bringing forward their sacrifices in order to perform sin offerings every single day. Besides that, we shouldn't leave out the people who were here for burnt offerings, grain offerings as well as peace offerings. Now, I want you to put yourself in the Israelite shoe. Can you imagine what they were seeing everyday with their eyes? Can you imagine what they were hearing every single day? Can you then imagine what they are smelling each day?
To get a glimpse of what they went through, follow your mum to the market. I can assure you, if you are stepping into the wet market for the very first time, your reaction will be "eeeeeeeeee, so dirty...." Not only that, you can also smell an unpleasant odor. If you are "blessed", you can even see some of the sellers slaughtering life chicken! Imagine the cry of the livestock, the unpleasant odor and the bloody scene from the market, multiply it 100 times (or more). The result of that would be the scene of the Israelite EVERY DAY! Isn't that a repulsive scene? Yes, indeed it is!
What is God trying to portray over here? That scene that the Israelite saw, heard and smelled every single day is a glimpse of what God sees when we sin against Him each day. To God, our sins are disgusting! Therefore, whenever you are about to sin against God, think of this scene. Think of how God will feel when He sees you from above and then stop sinning against Him. On the other hand, when you have sinned against God, think of this scene as well, to know how sinful and filthy you are before God. Subsequently, repent of your sin and come back to Him.
Secondly, did you realise that every single offering require the offerer to incur a certain amount of cost? Even the poor, God asked for animals as the sacrifice (Lev 5:7). Can you imagine the money they can obtain from the sales of all those animals? They can even eat the animals as their meals! However, they didn't. Why? They chose to give up the animals to God as their sacrifice to Him. They willingly and whole-heartedly gave in all those to God (even though it costs them). Are you then giving up your all in all to God, willingly and whole-heartedly?
Thirdly, it is so obvious that God gave us an articulate (thorough and detailed) account of the way Israelite should offer up their sacrifice etc. Why then is God doing this? He is actually telling us that He has His own way to save His people. Nobody can come to Him unless he/she comes to Him according to His way and only His way. Are you then approaching Him correctly? Are you picking on His words (All those you can obey, you will obey. Else, you will ignore them)? Remember, God will only accept you if you are doing according to His way.
In short, we are all sinner before God. However, thank God that He didn't just stop there and allow all of us to be condemn to hell! He gave His only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to us and He was crucified on the cross because of our sins. Thus, we are able to come near to God the Father not because we are worthy but because of Jesus's blood that wash us clean from our sin and His righteousness is regarded as ours whilst our sins are regarded as His. Nevertheless, as God has His own appointed way to salvation therefore always bear in mind that you need to come to God according to His way and not yours! In addition, note that it is solely of God's grace that you can come to faith in Him.
=End=
p/s Sorry, I am not that good in writing, but I am trying my best to write down what I have learnt through CF, YF and even bible study in order to remember by heart what I have learnt thus far. A big apologies to all (especially the preachers) if I didn't present the thing well. Hehe... You can always (always welcome) leave a comment and add in all those things that I left out =P

When times are well...
Scripture: James 4:7-17
7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
11Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

Topic: When all things are well
The word "therefore" is mainly used to introduce a logical conclusion based on facts or reasoning. It is as though "therefore" served as a purpose of "drawing out the main point" for the readers. In this short passage (James), you can clearly see that there are two "Therefore" in the passage (v7 & 17). As a result, it shows forth that in this short passage, all the words written there will be concise and important. In this respect, we will be looking into this passage and draw out the spiritual elements for ourselves.
In this passage, it is clear that the passage is written in an imperative format, whereby all the things stated here are commands / essential for the Christian. For instance, Submit to God, Resist the devil etc.
The passage can be further divided into 3 sections.
a) V7 - V10 == Focusing on self
b) V11 - 12 == Focusing on the relationship with others
c) V13 -17 == Focusing on the relationship with God
Our main focus will be mainly on V13 -17. Therefore, let us now study His words further in order to find out what God has to say to all those Christian who are currently not facing any trials and all things are well in life.
If you read V13, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit", you will have the idea that the person who said such statement will be in a state whereby he/she is carefree. He/She should be in a state whereby all things are well and not facing any difficulties in life. In fact, you can see that that person is trying to improve their life through investment.
Implicitly, people who said such words seem to portray that they are confident in their financial state. If you think further, aren't many of us fall in the same category? Well, you might not be confident in your financial status, but what about physically (i.e. having a good body shape)? Mentally? Socially (i.e. Having a big social network in life)? Psychologically? Many of us tend to be too over confident upon ourselves and forgetting that all things come from God.
Many of you can argue saying that "we are just planning for the future", is that wrong? Well, I didn't say that we shouldn't plan ahead, in fact, we should! But what makes it a sin and displease God? Look at verse 14. God clearly told us that we are way too over confident with ourselves and plans until we forgot the fact that we are not at all in control of all things. We are as though planning and being so certain that it will turn out the way we expected it. We forgot the fact that regardless how well we plan, if it is not God's wills, all things will not take place as we plan. To make the matter worse, we always tend to plan things according to our heart desires and preferences and not submitting to God ultimately. How then can we please God with our earthly desires plans? It will never please God!
Hence, how should we plan and not displease God with our plans?
We should always put God in the picture and submit to His wills whenever we are planning or deciding on our future. For instance, if you are hunting for a job, you take into consideration of the working hours (don't work on Sunday), working environment that will affect your spiritual growth etc. If it doesn't help you spiritually or doesn't glorifying God, you tend not to pursue it. Yes, though it might take you longer to seek for a suitable job but nevertheless you trust in God that He will provide. That is how you plan and decide on your future by acknowledging God and submitting to Him regardless what are the outcomes of your plans.
When all things are well, God knew that we tend to be overly confident regarding self. Therefore, God reminded us through James to submit to Him, resist the devil, draw near to Him, purify our hearts, humble ourselves etc (V7-12). But the most important message in this passage would be in V13-16 whereby God reminded us that we shouldn't be looking too much on the horizontal view (relationship with human) and forgetting the vertical view (relationship with God) even at times of ease.
Therefore, regardless what is happening in your life, regardless how you look physically, regardless of anything, submit yourself whole-heartedly to Him and constantly seeking His will and His words.
